REVIEW: The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl by Gina Lamm

Book One of the Geek Girls Series

Book Blurb:

THE STAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN HIGHER…
An avid gamer, Jamie Marten loves to escape into online adventure. But when she falls through an antique mirror into a lavish bedchamber—200 years in the past!—she realizes she may have escaped a little too far.

Micah Axelby, Earl of Dunnington, has just kicked one mistress out of his bed, and isn’t looking to fill it with another—least of all this sassy, nearly naked girl who claims to be from the future. Yet something about her is undeniably enticing…

Jamie and Micah are worlds apart. He’s a peer of the realm. She can barely make rent. She’s wi-fi. He’s horse-drawn. But soon the pair will do anything to avoid a Game Over.

THE REVIEW:  I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. It took me less than a day to read this book. I loved it that much. The chemistry between the two main characters is just very explosive right from the moment they first meet. Jamie though she could have watched her potty mouth from the beginning. She could also have thought out some of her actions and the consequences. At the beginning of the book she is this complete bad ass and by the end she just sorta seems weak and spineless.  What can I say about Micah? He is a very proper English Earl who is living under the effect of having had his fiance die while under his care over a year ago. He has also just gave up his last mistress I believe right before Jamie shows up in his time period. Micah is also about to propose marriage to a woman he believes is the best choice to be his countess. The woman is sweet and biddable and would completely bore him to tears within the first month of marriage.

This book  is a very good read and I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys a good regency romance and geek girls. Again the only problem I have with the book is by the end it Jamie is pretty much a spineless female who is pretty much just rolling over and letting Micah be engaged to another woman. And Micah just needed a reality check. He breaks off his engagement to Jamie because he thinks he can't protect because she keeps getting hurt. He just needed to suck it up and be a man.

RATING:  4 out of 5 stars
